Non-surgical Facelift

The Liquid Lift

Erase the signs of time without surgery - Out with the gaunt and tight, in with the plump and juicy.

Skin tightness, previously the holy grail of old-style face lift surgery (think Joan Rivers), is no longer regarded as the essence of youth. Now, medical studies have shown that the true perception of beauty lies in face shape. In other words, beautiful faces are heart shaped or Y shaped – widest at the cheekbones, and plump and juicy, like peaches.

Unfortunately though as we age we lose that vital, youthful facial fat and with this loss of volume our skin becomes looser and we develop wrinkles, folds and jowling. Once, there was a time when – as Mae West put it – every woman had to choose between her face and figure, but new developments in cosmetic enhancement mean women no longer have to go under the knife, instead we can effectively volumise and rejuvenate a woman’s face from the inside out with injections – a procedure known as the Liquid Face Lift.

While many are familiar with the traditional use of Botox®, specialised use of Botox® to relax the depressor muscles in the lower face and neck that pull the face downwards, can now create a natural lifting effect, and this together with the use of advanced facial dermal filler techniques, can fill, re-volumise and lift one's face. For some, the goal of this Liquid Facelift is to lift the entire face, for others it is to lift or contour specific facial features.

Brow Lifting and Frown Lines

As we age the forehead and brow gradually descends which can lead to upper eyelid fullness and a narrowing of the eyes. The forehead muscle then attempts to maintain brow position by over contracting which produces ageing horizontal forehead creases. Expert use of Botox® in the brow area causes the muscles that normally pull down to be weakened, resulting in a lifting effect of the mid and lateral eyebrow and a softening of the forehead and frown lines. Fillers can also be used to lift deep frown furrows or placed under the lateral eyebrow to further elevate the eyebrows.

Crow’s Feet and Undereye

The eyes are among the most important areas of the face but which unfortunately show the signs of ageing at an early stage, especially in those with fair skin and blue or green eyes which are more sensitive to daylight. Botox® around the eyes and lower eyelid area prevents the muscle contractions that cause crow’s feet and under eye wrinkles, and fillers can be used in the under eye area/tear trough to create a smooth contour down the cheek.

Cheekbones and Nasolabial Folds

At birth, cheek fat is high and tight on the face, but as the decades go by facial fat is lost and that which does remain starts to slowly slide down, deepening the nasolabial folds (nose to mouth lines). This loss of fullness from the cheeks together with thinning of the skin, sun exposure and a lifetime of smiling, laughing and other expressions, further results in ageing cheek lines. Injections of fillers along the cheekbone, plump the cheeks creating a more youthful appearance. In addition, this volume restoration creates a lifting effect of the lower face reducing the lines around the mouth and the appearance of jowls. Specialised use of Botox® in the cheeks can also soften cheek wrinkles, and fillers injected into the nose to mouth lines can lift these folds.

Mouth, Lips and Chin

The lower third of the face is often the part that shows the most undesirable ageing signs. ‘Smoker’s’ or ‘bleed’ lines around the lips can be softened with the use of Botox® and/or Fillers and thinning lips can be enhanced with fillers without the ‘trout pout’ effect if carried out properly. Cobblestoned chins can also be relaxed with advanced Botox® techniques.

Smile

Excessive gum show whilst smiling or laughing defines the ‘Gummy Smile’. With advanced Botox® techniques the problem of a hypermobile lip can be simply corrected creating a more confident, flattering smile.

Nefertiti Neck Lift

Inspired by the elegant swan–like neck of the Egyptian Queen Nefertiti, Botox® can be used to prevent the muscles in the lower face and neck pulling down the lower face. It can help lift the corners of the mouth and the lower face to combat the sad mouth look and the sagging formation of jowls. The Nefertiti Neck Lift describes the specialised technique of using Botox® along the jaw line to relax the straining underlying muscles. This results in an upward movement of the skin to reduce sagging jowls and creates a more defined jawline. Injections into the vertical neck bands further reduce the downward pull on the jowl area and neck resulting in a more youthful neck contour.
